and Joseph, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.

NOTE: 27:27-31 - It is so incredible that Jesus suffered and endured such contempt on behalf of the complete human race. Who knows how many of these soldiers had God's election upon them - had their eyes opened to whom Jesus truly was, and became members of His spiritual body? We will look with wonder and eternal gratitude upon our crucified, risen and glorified Lord, and for what He did for us. Hecame to be our Ransom, and was absolutely faithful unto death. Humanity will never be able to fully comprehend the love of God behind the price He paid!

- 27:32-44 - We do know that one of the two thieves had his mind supernaturally illumined as to who Jesus reallywas. “Remember me, when You come into Your Kingdom” - were his dying words. And He heard Jesus' words, “Truly I say unto you, this dayyou shall be with me in Paradise!” O - What grace! O - what eternal love! And was the dying thief worthy of such grace? Of course not! and neither is any one of us! Only the love of God - so rich and pure - can explain what started flowing out of Calvary to the dying thief, and has continued to flow forth to you and me! And as we share this “Good News” with our fellow man - we never know whose heart will be open to hear and receive this glad message!

27:45-56 - God signaled to earth such signs to ratify His approval for His Son and what He had just done - that not just the Centurion, but also the soldiers watching Jesus to His end, knewthat He was indeed a Son of God! Note too, that the spirit and life of Jesus was nottaken from Him - He yielded up and dismissedHis spirit back to God again. He was and is the Son of :man through human birth to a Jewish mother. But before Incarnation, He was the Eternal Son of God, a member of the Triune God. Can one understand and explain this? I can't. But like Billy Graham, I take the entire Bible by faith, and what I do not understand now, I will receive understanding in eternity! J.A.W.
